Origin
Why Khakithal? Initially, we wanted to name the pants after an imaginative and eccentric friend of ours that works in private equity. However, the powerful tonic of fashion and finance proved too much for some of our readers.

Lucky for us, we have another friend named ‘thal equally worthy of having pants named after him. And he works in a safer industry: management consulting. That’s Dan Rosenthal. He works at Bain, a company known for being a lot more fun than your average consulting firm and willing to be mocked in favor of a benign guffaw. We don’t think Steve Ellis, Bain’s managing director, is going to care if we name a pair of pants after one of his star young consultants.
But back to the pants, and to Dan. The khakithals are made of a smooth, silk finish Italian twill fabric that screams “you can wear me with anything, anywhere.” Dan is kind of the same way – he’s good at everything: well read, well mannered, well trained, and handsome to boot. He’s also a good customer and good friend. Next time you’re tired of putting on those lousy chinos from a store that rhymes with “hey you,” slip into some khakithals and step up your game. That’s what Dan would do.
